There is no doubt about the talent of Johnson. His temperament is the only thing which squandered numerous chances to win some of the game’s biggest events. The Dustin Johnson, 31 years old guy took a three-shot lead into the final round of the US open at Pebble Beach in 2010 but collapsed to a closing 82. Last year at Chamber Bay the US open slipped out of his grasp once more when he three putted from 12 feet on the 72nd hole to finish a shot behind Jordan Spleth.
Johnson had recorded four top-10 finishes in five majors since missing the 2014 US PGA due to taking a six-month leave of absence from the game to deal with ‘personal challenges,’ with Johnson forced to deny allegations in the United States of a positive test for cocaine. Johnson admitted in January 2015 he had been battling problems away from the course, with excessive drinking the primary one.
He was asked that what if he could fulfill his ambition to be a great player. He replied “:it is definitely a good start . This week I felt like I played really good. I don’t feel like I played great, but I played really good. So it’s definitely a start to becoming a great player.’
He continued and said “It’s fantastic and it feels really good for sure because I’ve worked so hard to get here. I’ve put myself in this position many times, and to get it done is definitely sweet”
